Prayer Ties

Creating prayer ties is an active meditation. It is through prayer, intention, and action that prayer ties come to life. The most important part of this ceremony is the reverence and respect you hold in your mind and your heart. Begin with opening sacred space and smudging yourself and all your supplies.

Four colors of fabric are used when making a prayer ties to represent the four directions or four winds - east (yellow), south (red), west (black), and north (white). Start with a small pinch of tobacco and speak your prayer into the spirit of the tobacco and then place it into a small square of cotton cloth. Place your tobacco in the center of a square of fabric. Fold the fabric over, fold it again and one more time. Pinch the bundle together to make what looks like a little ghost, tie it at the top around the pinch of tobacco. As you create additional prayer ties, add them to the same string, spacing the prayer ties 3 to 4 inches apart. You can add as many prayer ties as you like to your string, but there should be no cuts made to the string except on both ends. The continuous string represents the flow of energy from the beginning to the end of your prayer; you do not want any breaks to interrupt the natural flow of your intention.

You can take your prayer ties along with you when participating in spiritual rituals such as sweat lodge ceremonies, walking a labyrinth, medicine wheel ceremony. They will gather the energy and prayers of the ceremony. Offer your prayer ties to a sacred fire the smoke released carries the prayers to the Universe and the Great Mystery. You can tie the bundles to a sacred tree or bush and you may wish to tie downy feathers with them so that when the wind blows it carries your prayer above.

Greetings and Glad Tidings ~
Remember you are a magical being of the universe, what a gift your very presence brings. Take time to become aware of your breath and breathe into your heart giving thanks for being you and connecting with the life source of the Great Spirit and our Mother Earth, and move your attention to feel the power of your breath expanding out to touch the hearts of others.

This season give the gift of listening. I learn the most from my own direct relationship with Source; it is through this communiqué everything has a voice; the trees, plants, clouds, water, rocks, wind, the earth and all creatures. I gain my knowledge from this direction of right relationship with all things great and small. Finding the place of stillness within is a grand gift.
Winter Solstice ~
The Winter solstice is considered one of the most powerful times of the year by many cultures around the world. The winter solstice is the time of year when your prayers and thoughts are magnified exponentially and your dreams and visions are most active.

This is the time of the North on the Medicine Wheel and is the time of the greatest inner illumination. It is the time of the ancestors who speak to us from beyond the veil and in the Dreamtime. It is up to us to go within, see the dream and to offer our songs up to the Great Spirit and dream our world into being.

I want to encourage you on this most magical time of the year to gather with your friends and family to speak the silent songs you have carried in your heart seeding the matrix for the coming year. Let's make a ripple in the unknowable informing spirit to conspire on our behalf.

Lastly, I want to share a true story about my Mother and her Fairy Godmother

My mother has a Fairy God Mother! Someone has been anonymously sending my mother one hundred dollars almost every month for over a year. My mother is 85 and has a good heart. She is a sweet, kind, good woman and has done for others her entire life. My mother has been a single mom since I was thirteen and lives on her own and is still driving! Want I want to share is that this money that comes helps her out in more ways than what I can write about, and the important part is what a powerful difference this act of kindness makes.
Each time the postman delivers one of these mysterious envelopes my mother giggles with delight and gratitude as if it is the first and the last time this event will happen. What impressed me the most was my mother's insight and declaration that she always gives a small portion of what she receives to someone in need. I got to experience this the last time she came to visit. We were in the car and pulled off the highway to get gas and she noticed a young man walking by the side of the road. He was perhaps homeless or travelling and looked like he had seen better days; she told me to pull over to him and she started waving a 10 dollar bill out the window. Here is my 85 year old mother shouting out the window "today is your lucky day" and the young man looked surprised and unsure. The kindness in my mother's face was enough to bring him up to the side of the car. The young man was in disbelieve and said "What, you are giving away money?" You would have thought she was giving him a thousand dollars. He thanked her profusely and we saw him make a beeline to McDonalds.
The joy and laughter this brought to us was worth more than gold, and in that moment was the ripple that started with the act of giving by the Fairy Godmother. Little does the Fairy Godmother know how she has facilitated a wave of gratitude that is transforming more than just one life.
With even small acts of kindness we make a difference in the lives of others and we can make a powerful difference in the world when we carry a deep sense of gratitude and joy in our hearts. My mother's gratitude for her received gift continues to keep on giving transforming lives in small but profound ways.
I believe when we focus our thoughts on gratitude for our blessings it makes us feel energized and motivated to make a difference in the world. When we reach out to others in an effort to touch their lives in the same positive ways that we've been touched, it will fill you up with love and touches your soul. We end up creating a powerful cycle of love and gratitude that benefits all of us. Autumn Equinox ~ Embracing the Rhythms and Cycles of Nature

There is change in the air with Autumn Equinox poised for September 23, and summer has come to an end. We are getting ready to celebrate the bounty of the harvest, and begin to prepare for the bear lodge of winter. Equinoxes are known as 'Still Points" when the Earth goes into a magical period, when the veils between the worlds are very thin, and access into the Mysteries are granted for those who are ready.

Our ancestors celebrated these seasonal markers with ceremonies; they knew how to connect with the rhythms and cycles of nature, and the celestial movements of the 'As Above, So Below', making conscious connection. This is shown to us with the alignments of standing stone structures and the petroglyphs in many ancient sacred sites around the world. Learning to attune to these energies has been part of many mystery traditions. The movement between the stars and the changes of the seasons all reflect specific interplays of energy between the divine and the physical. To make a conscious connection with the celestial movements may inspire each of us to tune in and discover what significance the equinox timings represent for us individually and collectively.

Sacred Sites and Sedona

Visiting Sacred Sites ~ Doorways into the mysteries ~ with Stephanie Phelps

Spirit speaks to us in many ways, there may be a feeling or a calling that beckons to us when we hear the name of a sacred site; there is an energetic pull with the resonance and vibration of a name. Perhaps you have had this experience and you feel a calling and know you must visit this place. Sacred sites have been centers of spiritual life and ceremony on the earth for perhaps eons of time. The sites are imbued with history and legend and have a considerable influence on our psyche, and are keys to opening the human heart and mind. These places can facilitate our Sacred Quest to awaken, remember and know our true Divinity, providing renewed and enlightened peace within and deeper purposed meaning in our lives. There is healing that takes place on many levels when we connect with this undiscovered part of our self.

There is knowledge and wisdom imbued within the land, the stones and earth at ancient sacred sites, and one can plug into the invisible energies that permeate the local landscape. Since the sublet energies of any sacred temple, or landscape, or site are a living organism, the site reads the Seekers electrical field like a credit card. If there is a resonance between the person and the site there is a intermingling of energies and a doorway opens between both organisms. This is the place where the extraordinary is experienced and the magic and mysteries are revealed.

When we walk into a sacred site we are asking permission to connect with the guardians of that space and link ourselves into the subtle energy fields and hidden technology of the site. The veils in power spots are thin and if you come with a sincere and open heart and mind you may experience initiation into the deeper mysteries.

Our ancestors knew that ley lines, earth grids, and vortexes were energy sources and centers that were to be considered sacred, as do many present day people. The ancients of each civilization knew the paths of the Leylines and how to use and amplify the already abundant energy. Native Americans call them the Spirit Path, and the Aborigines call them Song Lines. They knew how to travel and commune with this vital living energy. You too can tap into and experience this energy at sacred sites.

Every person relates and reacts differently to different sites and what the energy does is very individualistic. You may experience pass life memory, you may feel the energy of the ley lines, earth grids or vortexes, you may hear the whispers of the ones who have gone before you, or perhaps you may feel the harmonic vibration of an area. The Shamanic Journey

The Shamanic Journey is a insightful way to expand your awareness and access spiritual guidance directly from and for yourself. It is a way of finding answers, information, healing, wisdom and knowledge. Journeying like meditation is a tool for spiritual growth.

Most shamanic journeys are taken to the sound of drumming or rattling, which encourages a state of trance and “dreaming” brain wave patterns which take us into a deeper state of being and perception. The process begins with a period of deep relaxation and centering. Often it feels like a dream, but you are awake and you can make conscious choices.

Two important things for a successful journey are your starting point and your intention.Your starting point will be an entrance to the earth that is known to you from your own life’s experience. It’s your special place, and if you don’t have one you can create it in your mind’s eye, and every time you revisit through a journey it will become more familiar to you. It could be a swimming hole, a well, a cave, a tunnel, an opening in a tree; it could be a crack in a rock wall or even an anthill. It doesn’t matter what it is, only that you have a clear image of your special place or entrance to the earth. You do not have to have entered it (like a well) but the picture in your mind must be vivid. Having a familiar departure point is key to learning how to excess Otherworlds with ease.

Expressing your intention – the purpose for your journey – and keeping this in focus is very important as you journey. Intention is the energy that guides the journey and ensures you do not wander aimlessly in the Otherworlds. When you are relaxed and ready to go on your journey state your intention by putting whatever question or purpose you have into a positive statement of intent.

So, for example, the question “should I take the new job?” could be expressed positively and definitely as: “My intention for this journey is to explore the outcome of taking a new job with my company.” This statement of intent alerts the spirits to your purpose so they can work with you more effectively. It will begin to direct your energy and the energies of the universe towards your specific purpose. It also ensures that you do not get distracted, that you have a clear and definite purpose in mind.

Trust the spirit helpers. It is important to leave your ego out of your journey. Often we may drive the experience to include Spirit helpers or totem animals that we feel are important to us, however it is not up to us who shows up. Allow the experience to unfold rather than rushing it or trying to force it. Michael Harner says that you are in charge of you on a train which is taking you to your chosen destination, but you are not in charge of the scenery or the inhabitants. A big help in letting go of your need to control and detaching from outcomes is to trust the spirit helpers. As hard as it can be sometimes, trust that the spirits are giving you what you most need at that particular time.

As soon as the drumming begins, imagine yourself entering a place that will take you down into the earth. Continue in your imagination until you reach your destination. The spirit guides, perhaps your power animal will be waiting there to help you with your question. Remember to stay focused on your intention throughout and if you lose your bearings at any time, focus on the sound of the drum and come back to your purpose again. Imagination is the bridge we use to cross to the Otherworld, but once we are there the spirits are our guides. All we need do is relax and receive.

Returning from your journey - When you hear the drum change its beat and call you back simply do your journey in reverse. There is no need to rush and it is not critical that you retrace your steps precisely. The reason for retracing your steps is to “groove” the journey so in future trips you will be able to arrive and return from the lower world with greater ease and efficiency.

When you have returned relax for a moment. Notice how you feel. Reflect on what experiences you had and what you learned.

When the journey is complete you might want to thank the spirits for supporting you in this effort and record it in a journal.

Except for a power animal never bring anything back from the lower world with you. If you receive a power animal always asked if it wants to come back with you.

Soaring with Eagle

Eagle ~ in all of my trips to Sedona over many years I had never seen an Eagle until last weekend. Then I saw it, a Bald Eagle slowly rising up overhead. Yesterday again in Sedona I had my second eagle sighting and this was an amazing and intimate experience. I was in an isolated canyon on my own taking my time to meander back into town and out in front of my view is what I instantly recognized as an eagle. I stopped my car on the rough red dirt road and stepped out to take it in. It was a golden eagle who came back my way and circled lowly over my head three times. I was in awe with this close encounter. I love the way its feathers curled at the tips and how thick its wingspan looked. The size and majestic flight of an eagle is inspiring and the message of Eagle is a welcome gift ~ Spirit Vision and healing surround you. Look at things from new perspective. Take a different path. Trust what you are becoming.

Medicine Drums

We were all born with a drum – our heartbeat. The first thing we hear is the heart beat of our mother while in the womb; and the Drum is said to connect us to the heartbeat of our Mother Earth and our Ancestors.

“The drum is a powerful tool for a Shaman. The Shaman uses the drum beat to access an altered state of consciousness to perform journeys for self, others and the earth and universe. We follow the drum beat to other dimensions and other worlds, travelling where no time and space exist. The drum beat also acts like bread crumbs being left along the trail that we can follow to return home to this reality”.

Personal Power

The word “power” is used often on our spiritual walk; for example you might hear someone say “stand in your personal power” or “own your power”. What does that mean? When I speak of “power” I am not talking about control over anyone or anything in terms of manipulation and domination. I am speaking of power as the spiritual energy that flows between all things.

When you step into your “personal power” you are honoring your dreams and desires and making plans to manifest your heart’s desire. If you want to have power in your life you must make a place for power to live within you and take a stand. You might do this by letting go of your fear of the unknown, letting go of your fear of change. This is where I have found the true meaning of trust, surrender and faith. When you back away from power what you are really doing is not believing or trusting in yourself. How will you ever know what you are truly capable of doing unless you take the risk and try? The Great Spirit will always conspire on your behalf and you must take some action stepping up to the place of being a co-creator of your own life. You can embrace change by stepping into the mystery of the unknown and do something you didn’t think you could do. Power comes from this place of doing rather than passively waiting for something to happen. Change is only frightening when you stand on the edge and do nothing. Look back over your life and all the times you actually made choices and the outcome opened you to new things, people, and places. Some of your choices may have been terrifying or exciting or just painful but these are experiences that have created your amazing life story. Nothing feels more powerful that when you can look at your life and say I did it.

Be courageous and turn your fear into passion and personal power. Surrender, trust and have faith knowing that God never gives you a hope, wish or a dream without the stepping stones to take you there.

Freedom ~ what does it mean to you? Have you ever stopped to think of how it feels to have the simple freedom of walking out your door in the morning and feeling the soft morning sunlight on your face. Do you drink in the liquid light with a heart filled with gratitude anticipating the promise of a new day? How about the freedom to have the beliefs that support you and your life?

To be a free thinker is to know one’s self well enough that the influence of a population doesn’t drive ones thoughts into a manmade conformity that does not work for one’s truth.

The freedom to know and believe in my heart that I can adopt a belief system that works for me and my family without allowing the judgments of a society or government to dictate to me what is right and what is wrong; because in my heart I know my truth and it comes from a place of love, even though some may find it unacceptable because of the social conditioning. Remember that love is love and knows only love. It is a place born of truth without fear, a place that is safe and nurturing, a place that is always like coming home. I know my God and the glory of embracing the possibilities of each day; one where we get to create the life we want to live. The freedom of choice our Nation was built on. Be a free thinker and think outside the box where the magic and mysteries reveal themselves, where the juicy creative potential exist, and freedom is born.

See through the eyes of the eagle with great perspective allowing yourself to expand your horizons and feel that illumination of the dawning of a new day, be a person of heart and truth.

I have been a medicine wheel keeper for many years now and I am awed with the ever-changing power of this ancient modality, and you can feel the new energies coming through what is a microcosm of the macrocosm. The Medicine Wheel is a great reflection of the universe and our interconnection, interrelated living experience as multidimensional beings. Medicine Wheels, mandalas and sacred circles have been used all over the planet for eons of time for bringing people together for ceremony, giving thanks and celebration, for healing and transformation, as a teaching tool, some are time portals, and more.
Chief Golden Eagle paid me a visit a few years back and he said to me he was happy I had not copied their ways with the recreation of a typical Sun Bear styled Medicine Wheel. I shared how spirit had guided me in my creation of a signature portal of energy.

Spring is here and with the season of spring comes new growth and new beginnings. We need to release the old and unwanted to make way for the new to come in. With the freshness of springtime let it be an opportunity to do a little spiritual housekeeping. Have you thought about or ever had a house clearing and blessing? Have you ever had your chakras or spiritual body cleared? The benefits are huge and noticeable immediately.

Sometimes we have lived in the muck and mire for so long we have forgot what it feel like to move, work, think and play in a spiritually clean environment. A house clearing and blessing makes way for better relationships, clearer thinking, better sleep and dreaming. A healthier, happier environment is one worth coming home to. Perhaps it will give you the inspiration for starting new projects and getting back on track with personal relationships.

May each step we take embrace our sweet Mother Earth! Let us walk with an awareness of balance in who we are and how we live, and what kind of an imprint we make, and what we leave behind for all our relations. Go out and plant a tree today. It’s good for air and the land. It shades your house and saves on cooling. Involve your children and grandchildren in this activity. It will make your soul feel good! Don’t forget to take your travel coffee cup with you and have them fill it up at your coffee shop. Grab some cloth grocery bags and use them at the grocery store. Join me with small acts of daily kindness for our Mother Earth.

I believe each one of us must take steps in creating the world we want to live in. We must make choices at this time that will support our survival. Therefore I share with you what I know to be important about the grass roots of sustainability.

"Sustainability is a movement that’s changing the way people think about the planet".
Sustainability is a way of using the Earth’s resources today that protects them for the next generation. It’s a movement of people, not government, not authorities. We the people through our individual acts and taking personal responsibility are encouraged to play a vital role in making conscious decisions about how we live and how we use the earth's resources.

Instead of old environmentalist ideals of not doing things like – not cutting down trees, not driving cars, not building cities - Sustainability means doing things to find balance between people and the environment. What people do on their own can lead to larger steps blazing new thought and actions for business and ultimately government leaders and the planet.

I want to share some facts and ideas that can help you in making choices about starting big change by doing something small. We all know that the stone in the pond ripples outward: those tiny ripples merge to form great waves: combined with our human intent is worth more than the sum of its parts.

What are you willing to do?

Changing light bulbs: If every American home replaced just one light bulb with an Energy Star qualified bulb, it would save enough energy to light more than 3 million homes for a year and prevent green house gases equivalent to the emissions of more than 800,000 cars.
Driving: Americans could save 1.6 billions gallons of gas by maintaining proper tire pressure.

Paper: If one in four office workers made all their copies double sided, they would save enough paper in one year to make a stack thicker than the diameter of the Earth.
Trash: When 1 ton of plastic bags are reused, the energy of 11 barrels of oil is saved.

Energy: If every house in American kept the curtains closed, the energy saved from the additional insulation would supply the entire energy use of Japan.

Water; If every U.S. household used low flow plumbing fixtures, it would save $6 billion worth of water.

Reusing shopping bags: If everyone in Arizona bought and used just one reusable shopping bag, it would eliminate the use and disposal of more than 6 billion plastic bags over the life of the reusable bag.

Air Conditioning: Getting one unit tuned up can save 220 pounds of carbon per year.
Home: Adding weather stripping to your doors and windows can save 1,600 pounds of carbon from electrical generation per year.

Water: Save up to 20 gallons of water per load by not rinsing your dishes before putting them in the dishwasher.

In the Driveway: If everyone in the U.S. who washes their car themselves took just one visit to the car wash, we could save nearly 8.7 billion gallons of water.
Shut the Damper: Keeping the fireplace damper open when you are not using it is like keeping a 48” window wide open during the winter or summer.

So there you have it: a few facts to help you in your awareness to going greener.
Now go out and enjoy stepping out to your garden and picking some organic veggies for supper.
Don’t forget to toss your fruit and veggie clippings into a bowl for your compost pile. By the way you can tear up or shred used printer paper for your compost pile.
Most important the most important ingredient is Love and that is what makes the world go round.

Walking the path of Mary Magdalene

Off the beaten track in the heart of Provence I discovered the sites of St. Maximin and Sainte Baume made famous by Mary Magdalene.
I was interested in visiting the Basilica at St. Maximin because it is an ancient town that was originally a Gallo-Roman site. Its fame owes much to the mystique of Mary Magdalene, as her relics were discovered here in 1280 in an old Roman-era crypt. The 14th Century Basilica of Mary Magdalene was built with the blessing of Pope Boniface VIII to hold those relics. The Basilica’s sacred crypt contains the sarcophagus of Mary Magdalene, and a bronze reliquary ( a receptacle for relics) of angels holds her skull, while a crystal tube preserves a fragment of her skin known as the “noli me tangere.” “Touch me not” were the words Christ used to Mary Magdalene on the morning of his resurrection.
I became lost in time the moment I entered the splendor of this medieval church. There was so much to take in as I approached the high alter, there were symbols long forgotten making reference to the Holy Grail and the path of the three Mary’s. What felt like an hour became four hours, then it was time to move on and drive up the mountainous countryside to St Baume and the Cave of Mary Magdalene.
Driving through the French countryside was magical with red poppies scattered throughout the fields, and the remembering of a distance past. We drove through a holly tree forest and then I saw the alabaster mountain which was beckoning to my heart, we had arrived at Sainte Baume. This is where we would climb up to the grotto in the face of a cliff, where Mary Magdalene is said to have spent long years in penance and ecstatic contemplation. Some say it is where she wrote the Book of Love. I had no idea how sacred this site was or the long history it held. It proved to be one of the most profound experiences of my life.
Hiking up to the Grotto was an initiation in itself. The path is called Allee des Rois (King’s Way) it is very steep in parts, intermittingly stone steps protruded from beneath the earth with the fallen debris of the ancient forest. The forest was declared protected and sacred since the 1500’s. Walking this sacred pathway I could feel the imprints of the Popes, Kings and pilgrims who had gone before me.
Finally after an arduous hike up the side of the mountain we arrived at the entrance into Mary Magdalene cave. The entrance had two huge oak doors. It looked like the entrance into a church or building, however it was like a façade because you step straight into the grotto, and without natural light, this holy place took on a supernatural aura, lit by hundreds of candles around the shrines. Drops of condensation added to the mysterious atmosphere of the sacred site. The water I could hear dripping around the cave but did not have a source, the stone ground was wet. I took off my shoes and walked barefooted absorbing the energy and imprint of the place. I took the holy water in my hands when I could feel it dripping and washed my face and hands. When one has an experience of grace it is something to be held within your heart, few words can adequately express the miracles and magic of discovering sacred sites. ~ Blessings Stephanie Phelps

There was a story on an email I received whereby a family hung a sign outside their home inviting anyone to come in because they had running water, they invited everyone to come and fill their buckets. There has been no looting, or hoarding, there is calm in Japan. The people are reflecting the teachings of the Buffalo. The Buffalo stands in the north on the medicine wheel. The Buffalo teaches us to stand strong and face the storm, and how to share with others. The buffalo teaches us the lessons of give-away and abundance.

We have all invested time, money, and energy in the teachings of medicine ways; perhaps with going to classes, lecture and conferences. With this personal investment to growth and evolution, step up and use it now, this is the time. You are being call upon to use the information you have gathered over the years drawing from the well of your inner wisdom to become all you can be. I believe that most people are disconnected from the earth and have more of a relationship with their car and I-Phone than the beauty of a budding tree and the whispering of the wind. This is the reason I like to create ceremony; to reestablish the living, breathing fabric of our luminous fibers the weave our existence ...together into the fabric of life. The earth does not understand our language but embedded in ceremony is the language the Earth understands. In ceremony our feelings, reverence and our sacred voice is given form and expression. One tells the Earth, Creator, the seen and the unseen what is felt and thought through specific actions, movements and intentions. The very fact that you made a decision to connect through ceremony is honoring the Earth and all of life. It is through this outward expression that we engage the mysteries. Quantum Fractal Energy Mandala

I just received my personal mandala from Quantum Fractal Energy Mandala. WOW, I feel very unique as does every individual that Keith creates for. To actualize the power and the potential that is accessible to me through this incredible vehicle I find astounding. When I see my mandala, my energy signature decoded and manifest into a visual vibration of color , light, texture, rhythm ,depth, transcendence; it all invokes an extreme amount of awe and wonder.
Viewing my energy mandala takes me into a portal of unlimited potential. I look at layers within layers in the mandala and a sense of unknowable power fills me. I see and feel a field of angelic awareness and this fills me with a sense of freedom; it’s like finding my spiritual origin and then bringing it into this multidimensional reality we live in. After connecting with the energy of my mandala I see and feel supported in a shared field of consciousness. One aspect (there are so many I could share) is the circle of beings at the bottom, which is not unlike the art work used by Doreen Virtue on the cover of her book titled
I believe that Keith Allen Kay has been masterful in the interpretation of spirit expressing into this material world. It is Individual, intelligent, and it brings a sense of awareness to one’s original magnificence and perhaps forgotten joy. Feeling peace and love during this glorious and auspicious time when many are celebrating the birth and enlightenment of the Christ. I love hearing the story of the three wise men who were guided by a Star of indescribable brightness to the site of the birth of Jesus.
The three wise magi were truly the mystical ones who followed their hearts and intuition. They were the ones who watched the sky, who were guided by the stars; the as above, so below informing them. They didn’t get their lead from a newspaper or cell phone they followed what was foretold in the stars and allowed their intuition to guide them. That is what I call being connected; connected to the rhythms and cycles of the Cosmos. Following the light of a star ~ taking a star-light-step into the unknown and trusting it would guide them to exactly where they needed to go. This is trusting in our direct connection with source. God whispers to our souls and speaks to our hearts. Can you trust in your starlight steps and believe they will lead you exactly where you need to go.

Winter Solstice, Full Moon & Full Lunar Eclipse 2010

Dearest Friends what an exciting powerful time is before us.

Most likely you have already heard the buzz over this extraordinary alignment of energies over Solstice on December 20 & 21, 2010 with a Full Moon and total Lunar Eclipse. This is the first time in 456 years we have the opportunity to witness a full lunar eclipse in America. The last time the two celestial events happened at the same time was in AD 1554, according to NASA.

You might be asking how does this rare cosmic event affect you; and how you might want to connect with this celestial vibration ~
This eclipse with galactic core heralds a time of great change on Earth, of purification and enlightenment. The silent songs we carry within our hearts will be heard, and our collective prayers will make a ripple in the unknowable. Eclipses represent openings and closings; they are portals and quantum choice points. Supercharged gateways of visualization and manifestation. The effects of our prayers and meditations are magnified exponentially through this portal.

Tapping into the energy of the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year and a time that is associated with the rebirth of the Sun, can be worked with as a ritual of transformation from darkness into light. Look at your shadow side, what is hidden that needs or wants to be illuminated. Sometimes what is hidden is actually your gift. Solstice is the time of dreaming, magic, and setting intentions for the coming New Year. The exact Solstice is at 3:39 pm Pacific Time on December 21.

On the morning of December 21st, around 7:25 am in Phoenix, Arizona you will also have the rare opportunity to connect at the same time with the magic of the sunrise and the moon set. With clear skies and finding a high point one will bear witness to the Sun rising on the Galactic Cross near Galactic Center in the East just before the Moon sets in the west. Witnessing a Solstice Sunrise is a powerful way to engage the present energies and anchor the accelerating light codes being beamed in from the Galactic Center via the Sun.

When we consciously connect with the mysteries and celestial happenings, we are informing them as much as they inform us. Look up at the sky and make your connection with what is visible; let the shadows and play of light inform you. Ask yourself how you feel and what do you sense. When you make a decision to connect with the energies of the Universe, it conspires on your behalf.

Some people believe this is the real event of the 2012; because there is way more happening astrologically now, than what will actually be taking place on 2012. Take time to connect with this cosmic event, even if you can only light a candle, spend a few minutes and unite your vision for a healed, holy, healthy, and peaceful world with your family and the entire human family over this Solstice. There will be healers in Africa, Aboriginal shamans in Australia, medicine women in the Himalayas, and people throughout the Americas praying for peace and a healthy planet. Consider calling in sacred space, setting up an altar, drumming, chanting etc are also ways to engage this timing. It isn’t necessary to do anything but sometimes doing these things can help us connect more deeply. My favorite way to connect is to be outside under the night sky drinking it all in through my senses, being fully present with an open heart to all possibilities.

This is a call to stand in your mastery, to be available to your destiny ~

Winter Solstice and the Despacho

Winter Solstice is my favorite time of year to create a Despacho.

My first despacho ceremonies were with the Quero Shaman from Peruvian at the World Medicine Project in 2006. We had three days of ceremony with snow and rainbows in the skies, it was an extraordinary experience, accumulating with receiving the mosay karpays. During this time we created several despachos and I want to share with you what a Despacho is:

"The despacho is a gift--a giving back of what we receive everyday in our lives. We seek, through the despacho ceremony, to bridge the ordinary and non-ordinary realms; to establish new patterns of relationship and possibility. The despacho places us in right relationship, right ayni, with the Pachamama, our Mother Earth. It establishes a linkage between our three centers of interaction in the kaypacha (the physical universe); our llankay (our personal power and source of action, located in our solar plexus), our munay (the source of our love, located in our heart chakra), and our yachay (wisdom, sourced from our foreheads or "third eye").

A traditional despacho is created by medicine people who work in alignment through their spiritual power. As the ceremony begins, red wine and white liquor (pisco) are offered to the spirits of the mountains and to Mother Earth. The medicine persons and all the participants pass each other coco leaves--the sacred plant of the Andes--into which their prayers have been blown. These gifts are a sign of community and strengthen connections.
The offering or gift is created on Andean weavings that represent the masculine and feminine in balance (mastanas and uncunas). White paper, for clarity, is placed on the weavings for a base. A bed of incense is laid, to carry the prayers of the offering into the cosmos. Flower petals (red for Pachamama, white for mountains) are laid in a pattern, commonly in a circle, four directions, cross, or flower pattern, depending on the intent. Sets of coco leaves, called kintus, are prepared with intent by each participant, then collected by the medicine people and placed in a pattern on the offering, again reflecting the particular intent of the despacho.
The ceremony brings participants into alignment with their personal intent, the group intent, and gratitude to the earth, which supports us in all our endeavors.
Despachos are offerings to Mother Earth and the Universe that bring healing, blessings and all types of abundance. Full Moon

Step out doors tonight and bathe in the brilliant beauty of Grandmother Moon and her radiant golden glow. The sacredness of the moon has been connected with the basic cyclic rhythms of life. In ancient times we studied the relationship between Heaven and Earth, As above, So below As below is above. Watching the natural cycles of creation, guided by the heavens/ the stars, we sought to anchor celestial energies to support the evolution of Earthy consciousness. Full moons symbolize completion and fulfillment, the realization of the seed; it is a time for the clearing of old energies and releasing what no longer serves us. The light of a full moon is said to illuminate those things within us that interfere with advancement on our spiritual path. Once we are enlightened to what is blocking us, it is easier to let it go. Embrace this full moon to remember our essential connectedness to All That Is.

Orbs

Orbs are highly evolved spiritual beings. Orbs are best described as balls of energy and light. I see them as inter-dimensional beings. They could be referred to as spirit beings, light beings, and angels. They respond to high levels of consciousness and ceremony, as well as joy, laughter and love.
At times telepathic communication takes place between us and I will know to take a photo. When I listen and take the photo sure enough Orbs are present. I also see them with the naked eye. Whilst most people experience orbs in their photography at night, I have photos taken in all conditions; during the day, indoors and out, when there is rain, and when the air is totally void of moisture. Living in the desert and when its 110 degrees out the debunkers can’t possibly say a golden orb with designs within its circular shape is moisture or dust spot. How can it be that when I am at sacred sites, temples, and churches they show up and then just outside the sacred area I will take more photos and there is nothing present in the way of orbs.
The Orbs respond to sacred sites and significant places and the people taking the photos. The veils between the worlds are thinning and for those of us who are ready the mysteries are being revealed.

I am featured in the book (page 160) written by Kathy Doore ~ Markawasi: Peru’s Inexplicable Stone Forest. It was October 2005 Kathy Doore handed me a photograph of the “Monument to Humanity”. I had no previous knowledge regarding the history of Markawasi, in fact I had never hear if it. Stone People ~ When A Rock Speaks Listens

Working with Sacred Stones ~ Stone People ~ The Ancient Ones

Have you ever felt the pull of a rock, but couldn’t explain your affinity with it? Have you collected stones over the years, repeatedly putting one in your pocket? You are not alone! Stones are calling you, drawing your attention to receive their invitation to work with them. Every stone has a field of energy and a consciousness. I have heard people say “it’s just a rock.” But the truth is that a rock has consciousness, its resonating slower. We are all made up of the same cosmic stuff in different frequencies. In the shamanic tradition the “stone people” are considered living beings, fully consciousness and able to communicate and teach.

Not all stones are “power stones” but all possess the potential. Similarly, not all people are “awake” but all have the potential to remember who they truly are. For example, you go to an event and one person stands out, you are drawn to them for no apparent reason, and later learn they were conscious of you too. It's the same with stones.

Stones are repositories of information absorbed through the energetic transference of the site itself, particularly sacred sites. In the shamanic tradition of Peru (and elsewhere), you will find a plethora of “huacas” or sacred stones, at these sites. When you feel an invitation from a stone, collect it so that you can access the information. Always leave an offering behind. A pinch of tobacco or sage, or a strand of your hair (DNA) along with a heartfelt prayer of thanks, may be offered in the void vacated by the stone.

By connecting your field of energy with that of the stone, you will learn how to interact with the energy. Listen and examine, letting your imagination “read the stone.” When you connect with this field of consciousness, you connect with the language of the stone. Impressions will speak to you visually or energetically; perhaps the stone is connected to the ocean, the moon, or to the Mother Earth, revealing its history. If it’s a power stone, a “khuya”, it will call you, and reveal how to use it.

FIRE CEREMONY

Fire ceremony is a beautiful ceremonial tradition which has been honored for centuries. It is performed outdoors which I love because it provides an opportunity to connect deeply with the earth, and the star energies. It is a beautiful exchange of energy and a doorway for transformation. Fire ceremony is typically held around the full moon or new moon of each month when the veils between the worlds are the thinnest.
The Fire Ceremony is conducted as a means to offer healing to the individual, and the community as a whole. Know that every time we heal our self we help heal the world. Fire ceremony is an incredible tool to help you change and shift, allowing for rapid transformation. Fire provides the avenue to let go of the old story and drama, to transform, to renew and to be reborn. Through fire ceremony, you honor your lessons and old belief structures by placing them in the fire and turning them over to Spirit.
Before coming to the fire ceremony an offering is created out of burnable materials, typically a small stick is used. This is called a light arrow or a spirit stick and it represents an issue or something that needs to be honored in order for you to let go of it. The offering serves to focus one’s attention in active meditation. When you come to the fire ceremony and approach the fire you are connecting with what you are honoring, the gifts you have received, or what you are envisioning into being. Using your breath you will hold your intention in your heart and your mind and then blow your intention or prayer into the offering several times. The light arrow/stick is then placed into the fire. This is your offering and the fire is an act of transformation.
There is a two-week period following a fire ceremony in which "instances of opportunity" appear. These instances provide the opportunity to translate your intent for healing into reality. It is best to think of the fire ceremony not as instantaneous magical change, but rather an opening for healing. Become aware of the "opening" and seize the opportunity for change in the real world. Bird Medicine and Feathers

Birds have always inspired the imagination with their grace, flight and beauty. They connect us with the heavenly realms, teaching us to fly to new heights in all our endeavors, and to see life with new perspective.

Birds and their medicine have been associated with the mind, wind, new flight, ascension and lofty ideas. Birds or what I lovingly call the Winged Ones fly along the sacred pathways of the winds, the breathe of Spirit, and come as messengers leaving their feathers as gifts.

I have always loved the winged ones and they have gifted me many beautiful feathers over the years. When I find a feather placed upon my path I see it as a sign to inspire and support my spiritual journey or perhaps it has come as acknowledgement for work done in a good way.

A feather carries the essence of the whole bird and all its creature features. When you study the traits of particular birds you will learn how to apply their medicine to your life. For example the Owl sees in the dark, and owl can lead you from the dark into the light. The Roadrunner keeps showing up lately for me and its medicine is about mental agility, moving quickly and being able to stop and start quickly. This is important for all the projects I am working on presently. I paid attention to the signs and symbols through which spirit communicates and supports me.

Some of the ways in which I use feathers are for smudging and clearing space, clearing people’s aura, in healing sessions and ceremony.
When I use feathers in ceremony I call in the energy or essence of that particular bird. For example I might call on the medicine or power of Eagle with my legal Eagle feathers to come into our ceremonial circle bringing into the ceremony clarity, perspective, new vision, healing, or even showing us how to fly straight into our destiny. We are connecting to the medicine or power of the bird using its feathers. Everything carries and energetic imprint and can influence the substance of life.

Consider working with Bird Medicine and feathers, and allow yourself to be open to awaken to the magic of your own inner flight.

Spring Equinox at Boulder House in Scottsdale AZ

On March 21, 2010, during the Spring Equinox in Scottsdale, Arizona, I manifested ceremony at an historical site known as the “Boulder House”, which is a significant sacred location identified by the Ancient Ones as a celestial marker and fertility site. The Ancient Ones were skilled observers, and the Equinox and Solstice are marked by the solar interaction between the circle and spiral petroglyphs carved into the granite boulders. There is much evidence of shamanic activity throughout. The shamans energetically entered the formations and symbols depicted in the boulders. Datura seeds, shards of white quartz, and pottery were left behind at the entrance to the site. The Ancient Ones recognized the power of connecting with the mysteries through sacred landscape. The repositories of these sites are illumined with wisdom and energy that may be accessed by all.

The ceremony was well-attended, including over 70 people, all coming together to celebrate the first day of spring. Participating in sacred ceremony unites us to an alignment with the natural flow of life, with its beauty and cycles of Earth rhythms. We re-awakened the Spirits of the Land through the songs we carried in our hearts, and in return felt the Universe was listening. We created something pristine and fresh, and experienced a blossoming and expansion of melody: the pure melody of Life itself.

How beautiful it is to join in a circle, establishing and restoring relationship, balance, and harmony! As we come to circle and invoke the Divine, Life itself convenes, and the connections with all relations are revitalized and renewed: animal, plant, spirit, and stone people. All things gather to sit in council. Within each of us this circle exists, waiting to be ignited; it is our personal medicine wheel. The inner council lies within us.

Each participant involved in the process of sacred ceremony establishes a singular bridge joining Heaven and Earth. The Spirit is honored in its interface with the Universe, Mother Earth, and all her relations. A gift is given: one is allowed to step into the mystery and power of the uniqueness of personal Spirit. A fluid give-and-take occurs between the individual and the mysteries.

As we walk the path of the Ancient Ones, healing takes place on many levels, and as we come into balance, the Earth joins us in that restoration. Through the peace, harmony, purity and love created in ceremony, an energy resonates profoundly throughout the rocks, trees, and Earth, nurturing and re-establishing the memory of health and tranquility.

The journey around the Medicine Wheel is a Four Fold Path known as the Four Winds or the Four Directions of the Medicine Wheel:

We start in the direction of the south. The south is known as the path of the serpent, the direction of power and energy. It’s where we shed our personal past and our programming, much the way a snake sheds its skin. It’s the work of releasing your past energetically and mythically, and it’s your first act of power. It is accomplished by working with the themes in your life that are keeping your energy stuck in the past. As these themes are healed your energy is brought into present time, this empowers you to live life differently and fulfill your life purpose. In the work of the south we learn how to practice non-attachment, non-judgment, non-suffering and beauty. So you no longer have to live the pain and the suffering of the past. You will learn to become a Hollow Bone.

The second direction is the West, path of the Jaguar, death of the old and transformation. In the west you work with your ancestors and learn how their stories and shadows live within you, and you will learn how to release and heal those biological and karmic patterns that live within you. The west is where the luminous warrior chooses her/his battles. Instead of fighting the battles everyone else wants you to fight, you fight your own battles and you learn what those battles really are. You will learn to become a Spiritual Warrior.

The third direction is the work of the North. The North is the direction of magic, and the ancestors of our shamanic lineage. The archetype for the north is the hummingbird; teaching us how to make the impossible journey while drinking directly from the nectar of life. In the North direction you begin to step into your power in present time learning the practices of invisibility, mastery of time and how to keep a secret from yourself. You take off your mask leaving your ego behind and begin to walk a path of service. You will claim your power and learn to tell your Sacred Story.

The fourth direct is the east. You finish in the east but truly this is where it all begins; it is the direction of destiny. The journey of the east is the hardest journey the Shaman makes. It is the path of vision and enlightenment. The archetype for the east direction is the Eagle or the Condor. It’s where you fly wing to wing with the Great Spirit. The Eagle/condor perceives the entire panorama of life without becoming bogged down in its details. The east is where we step into who we are becoming. This is where you step into a place of dreaming the world into being for yourself and future generations. You will learn how to come into right relationship with your Sacred Medicine.

In the medicine wheel way you learn how to utilize the many tools presented through the lessons of embracing this ancient modality for problem solving and making this journey through life with more ease and grace. Walking the path of the medicine wheel can change lives and our perception of the world in a good way. It is about spiritual development and learning through the teachings of ancient wisdom, nature and ceremony. It is a path of personal empowerment for whatever you do in your life. It is a journey of self discovery, an opportunity to look at the undiscovered aspects of your true self.

Walking the path of the Medicine Wheel has changed the way I live my life. I choose to live my life as the peaceful or luminous warrior. For me it is the luminous warrior who strives to live life impeccably; to show-up and do the best that one can. It is about walking a path of heart, walking through life consciously. Winter Solstice

It is Winter Solstice and I will be celebrating the magic of Birth, Death, and Rebirth. The longest night of the year is reborn as the start of the new solar year marking the “rebirth” of the Sun and the lengthening of the days.

It is the time for going within; it is when the earth lies dormant. The plants that graced the earth here in the northern hemisphere may appear dead but their power is in the Mother Earth, only slumbering and gathering strength for another season.
The Winter solstice is considered one of the most powerful times of the year by many cultures around the world. Indigenous peoples celebrate the Winter Solstice in various ways here in the Northern Hemisphere. Some ignited bonfires to hold the darkness at bay, others drummed, sang and told stories in their lodges around the fire. We hang Christmas lights, light candles and burn Yule logs.
The winter solstice is the time of year when your dreams and visions are most active and accessible. This is the time of the North on the Medicine wheel and is the time of the greatest inner illumination. It is the time of the ancestors who speak to us from beyond the veil and in the Dreamtime.
It is up to us to go within, see the dream and to offer our songs up to the Great Spirit and dream our world into being.
WE gain strength from within and get ready to embark upon a new journey, one that is energized from within.
I feel its important to take time out of our busy schedules and connect with the cycle of the seasons to bring us into rhythm with the Earth Mother celebrating the peace and beauty in our lives in spite of the challenging times.

Shamanism and Catastrophic Illness

Many of us are aware that when we heal ourselves, we aid in healing the world. A great truth is that the most blessed gift we can share with each other is that of transforming our wounds into sources and tools of power and wisdom. I was introduced to the contemporary reinterpretation of ancient healing practices that are still used in North and South America. While I was working as an Intuitive Medium, connecting the “Other side” with loved ones, I used Energy Medicine to help people come to terms with their grief and sorrow. However, I realized that although I could help people heal their emotional and spiritual grief, I could not restore their physical health. I set out to discover the instruments I could place into my medicine bag that would transmute my abilities into achieving equilibrium of the whole body: mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical. I was introduced to a very well-known Shaman, and embarked upon the teachings of Inka Medicine ways. After many years of study, practice and initiations I have the tools in my medicine bag that can assist in changing lives. I first met Larry Frank in the fall of 2008, when he came to seek my advice. Larry had been on a spiritual journey for many years, and had studied shamanism, participating in numerous ceremonies with various teachers. Of late, he had been feeling broken and lost. He had just been through the roughest six months of his life, and he related to me the following story… “I was still recovering from achilles tendon reattachment surgery, an umbilical hernia repair; a “spot” on my lung was discovered during the work-up and diagnosed as a possible tumor. While the cat scans, x-rays, etc. were being studied for the lung spot, an additional “hot” spot was found on my right adrenal gland. Due to the biopsy, I exhibited full-blown symptoms of pheochromocytoma. I was told I was a walking time bomb, liable to have a stroke or heart attack at any moment. And then, my significant other informed me she no longer wanted a relationship. I was living 24/7 with the distinct possibility that I may die at any time. As my blood pressure was out of control, I was scheduled, and then rescheduled for surgery numerous times. It was during this period that I was referred to Stephanie Phelps.” “Immediately upon entering her office, Stephanie’s warm and caring nature, tempered with great empathy, helped put me at ease. We focused on clearing negative entities from my Luminous energy field. Then, prior to the surgery, we worked to clear any negative energies and entities that may have inhabited the hospital room and surgery theater.” “Prior to surgery, I felt at ease, although I had had a premonition that I may die during surgery, which I indicated to my sister and best friend. Stephanie’s work left me prepared for any eventuality. On December 17, 2008, as I was being wheeled into surgery, the last cognizant thought I had was, ‘My lungs are going to fail.’ Two days later, I awoke in ICU from a supposedly simple hour-and-a-half laparoscopic procedure, strapped down with tubes poking out of my orifices. The surgeon informed me that as they had started the laparoscopic surgery, the adrenal vein burst, and they had to cut me open from sternum to hip bone for a compete adrenalectomy. As they started the surgery, my lungs failed, and my heart stopped. I died.” “They started my lungs and heart back up, and I am here today, still working with Stephanie. Thanks to this special Healer Shaman I am embarking on my soul’s purpose, and continue to seek her counsel.” After meeting Larry and assessing his situation, I had begun with a technique known as “Illumination”. It is a foundation for much of the healing work in my practice. It is very effective for assisting with a variety of problems--a fast-track for transformation. During my healing sessions, I track any negative energy that is affecting the person, and remove it, guiding the person through the process and identifying the energy that is holding the patterns in place--the things that keep that person “stuck”. This removal technique combusts the dense energies that prevent one from moving past personal obstacles. I follow by flooding the chakras with the Light of the Sacred. In this way, together we develop a new, broader map, incorporating the healing that has just taken place. Part of the process is working with breathing, including use of my medicine stones, or Khuyas. The Khuya is a stone that carries particularly fine or abundant energy, and is considered a stone of power. My Khuyas have been initiated through a lineage of shamans. When we work with the stones in the Illumination process, they help with transforming, or mulching, the dense energy. In describing the Illumination process, we begin with the Luminous Energy Field: the Aura, or Spirit Body, which surrounds the physical body. The Aura is an invisible matrix that holds the imprint of all our karmic, personal and ancestral memories, traumas, wounds and beliefs. These imprints can become activated to mirror a personal history that repeats itself, compelling us towards behaviors, relationships, accidents or illnesses that replicate the original trauma. They may also manifest as addictions, headaches, anxiety, depression, anger, shame, blame, sadness, etc. An Illumination is the energetic clearing of the negative imprints in our Luminous Energy Field. It is one of the ancient energy healing techniques that come from the Q’ero shamans of Peru, the descendants of the Inca. The Illumination process includes balancing the chakras, as well as clearing out negative patterns and imprints, transforming wounds into sources of power and compassion. Imprints to the Luminous Energy Field appear as sluggish energy around the chakras. During the healing, the heavy emotional energy of the imprint is drained through the chakra. An Illumination is helpful when you feel stuck in a behavioral pattern which continues to repeat itself. Each individual struggles to heal from traits (emotional, mental, spiritual or physical) that are part of his/her ancestry. Emotional traumas of one’s past continue to haunt, and do not respond well to other healing modalities. It is a great honor to share my years of experience with the hope that I can inspire others to move fully into the life they were born to live.

Fraud in Metaphysical Circles

As a person of heart and service I am always willing to to examine the truth of my work and the ripple it many have on others. I recently became aware of some very negative comments around the imitation of copying native ways. I never claim to be Native American or to know their ways. My body of work is one that comes from a direct relationship with Spirit. I have learned how to listen and receive messages from a place deep within. Through a understanding of being in the flow and the timing of synchronistic events I was instructed to create a Medicine Wheel. This a place where people come and build their own bridge connecting heaven and earth. My Medicine Wheel is a sacred space a place created for people to come for transformation, well being, and for the healing of our Mother Earth. Ceremonial space is very important to people for connecting with the rhythms and cycles of nature, for prayer and life celebrations. There are circles of stones all around the world from many cultures and traditions.

My Medicine Wheel was created in tandem with spirit through purity, innocence and passion. In the ten years I have been the keeper of this Medicine Wheel many people have come to experience the ceremonies and personal healing. Many people have come from all over the world bestowing their gifts of stones and crystals for this space. This Medicine Wheel has grown into something much larger than I could have ever conceived on my own.

I recently had a visit with the Chief of the Lakota Nation, Chief Golden Eagle and Spotted Eagle Man, they came to my home and visited my Medicine Wheel. They said they were pleased I had my own interpretation or signature of energy called a Medicine Wheel. They gave a blessing to the stone people saying it was for my love of the stone people. They saw and felt the vibration of this sacred space and all was done in a good way. This was a very special day for me having Native Americans recognize the value of creating new portals of energy on our Mother earth.

Creating a Medicine Wheel and being keeper of a Medicine Wheel is a calling. This is not the type of calling where one is better than another, or is it the taking away of ones tradition that one perceives is rightful theirs and only theirs, but a universal language for all. No one tribe can have a corner on the Tree people, Stone people, animal spirits and such, or the elements... the language of the Earth is available for all of those who listen.

Now is the time to share what we know with others. To empower one another and grow into all we can be in this lifetime. I have had several Native America teachers and one small thing taught to me was how the Turkey drags its feathers along the ground connecting and gathering the energy of the Earth and this teacher call the turkey the Earth Eagle. I have shared that bit of information with others.

Perception is the right of an individual but it is also a great distorter of the truth. Perhaps if we could listen with our hearts rather than our heads we could celebrate each others otherness with respect, tolerance and a compassionate heart.

In my tradition we look forward to the day when the Eagle meets the Condor and we see each other God eyes to God eyes.

Shamanic Healing or Energy Work can accomplish more in an hour than years of talk therapy. When Oprah asked Dr. Mehmet Oz, “What is the future of medicine?” he replied without hesitation, “Energy Medicine.”

As a shamanic practitioner I work with what is know as the Luminous Energy Field. Our physical bodies are surrounded by an invisible matrix that holds the imprint of all our karmic, personal and ancestral memories. These imprints can become activated to mirror a personal history that repeats itself by compelling us toward behaviors, relationships, accidents or illness that replicates the original trauma. I use the energy healing technique known as Illumination to clear the negative imprints in our luminous field. There are many common physical, mental and emotional challenges that can be helped by removing the energy which surround and cause the challenges by tracking and then removing the energy. THE GOLDEN RULE

Recently my most beloved friend asked what I thought would be important for our daughters to know if we were not around to teach them. I thought about this and realized that two words summed up a lot of what I thought was important. Those two words are tolerance and compassion. I do believe the combination and scope of these acts equals love. Knowing and practicing tolerance encompasses just about every thread of life; and could be used to weave a beautiful rich tapestry for life. Compassion is to see with heart or to see with feeling. Just think what the world would be like if everyone practiced these acts of Love.

I also thought about a very simple truth known as The Golden Rule. This is one common thread that links us all together. Perhaps if we all used it we could achieve what everyone wants - peace, food, clean water, shelter, safety, community, and love; by using the Golden Rule. Its seems to me that one of the fundamental reasons that humanity continues to be divided is because of religious beliefs and ethnicity. Most of our differences are based on skin color and the exclusive status rooted in that they were chosen by God, or my way is the only way. I read something that rang true for me “It’s not that we believe dogmatically that is important, but how we behave towards each other and all sentient life.”
Even though we may all have a different version of God there is one thread that is woven into the core of all spiritual practices – the Golden Rule. Together this is the place where all paths come together to bridge our collective knowingness and link us as One joining our heaven and earth.

What is a medicine tool?
Let’s first be clear that the word medicine in shamanic cosmology refers to our personal power not a substance to restore health.
A medicine tool can be any object that is special and has significance to you. They act as a catalyst connecting you with the energies of all creation.
The most desirable objects we use for medicine tools are gathered from Nature. Feathers, stones, bones, sticks, shells, and such are all recognized as potent allies that a Medicine Person or Shaman can utilize. Everything is energy and carries its own energetic vibration. Each medicine tool will resonate with its own intended purpose depending on what it was created for and the elements contained within it. The Shaman can utilize this to synchronize their energy with that of a medicine tool. In this way a feather can assist a shaman to fly on a journey, a stone or crystal can give you access to the wisdom of the Earth, a wand or staff cut from a fallen branch of a tree will connect you will the properties of that tree.
Other medicine tools are those that are handmade for a specific purpose. The most recognized and universal are the drum and rattle used by Shaman from many traditions and cultures to aid in journeying and trance work.

When we set out to accomplish a quest or to assist others on their paths it is very helpful to have tools that guide and support us. Medicine tools can be used for energy balancing, dream work, healing, journeying and trance work, ceremonial circles, connecting with your animal totems. They can receive energy, direct and channel energy. They can simply be objects of beauty and creation.

Like all medicine objects they are power tools that help you connect with the work spirit intended you to do. When we work with medicine tools they become imbued with our prayers and intentions and become very sacred and powerful to us.

SEDONA SACRED SITES WITH STEPHANIE PHELPS
I invite you to join me for a day of self discovery, ancient cultures and earth wisdom. I will lead you on a magical journey filled with breathtaking scenery and the majestic red rocks of Sedona.
We will begin our pilgrimage with opening sacred space and setting our intentions within a stone and crystal Medicine Wheel, set in the desert landscape.
Our first stop will be what is known as the birthplace of the Apache. We will walk the path of the ancients to discover the sacred pool still used today for ceremonies and initiations by the natives.
Our travels will take us deep into the canyons of Sedona to discover one of the largest panels of rock art including pictograms from several different native cultures. I will share information regarding that site that has been orally handed down to me from a Medicine Woman.
We will conclude our journey at Cathedral Rock, a vortex site on the waters of Oak Creek. This is a very healing vortex, resonates to the feminine, and the only magnetic vortex in Sedona. We will have circle here taking time to meditate and reflect. Perhaps pipe ceremony or a drumming journey. This is an excellent site for receiving signs and gifts from Spirit.
We will weave into our traveling time a little retail therapy, shopping with the Native Americans at Oak Creek and my favorite Crystal Magic.

Hopi Prophecies

Hopi Prophesies and Grandfather Martin with Stephanie Phelps

Grandfather Martin is a traditional Hopi Elder and Guardian of the Sacred Stone Tablets of the Fire Clan. He lives and breathes the traditional spiritual ways of his Hopi people on a land known as the “Heart” of Turtle Island (the U.S.) The Hopi people that live on third mesa live as their ancestors have lived, and that is in humble simplicity without running water and electricity. On the mesas of Hopi land each Hopi clan perpetuates a unique ceremony, and the ceremonies together maintain the balance of natural forces of sunlight, rain and winds, snow, and reaffirm the Hopi respect for all life and trust in the Great Spirit.

Hopi Elders pass warnings and prophecies from generation to generation through oral traditions and reference to ancient rock pictographs and tablets, and they keep track of those that have been fulfilled. Grandfather Martin Gashweseoma keeper of the stone tablets shares that we are now nearing the end of the great cycle, as foretold in the Hopi Prophecy. The Hopi prophecies are probably the most famous, as they talk about the "Age of Purification and the emergence of the rainbow family " when the Blue Star Kachina makes its appearance in the heavens, the Fifth World will emerge. This will be the Day of Purification. The Hopi prophesies are well known for their accuracy and they are shared and known and not kept hidden or secret. Grandfather Martin shared that the Tibetan Buddhists also have a similar prophecy, which was discussed when the Dali Lama met with the Hopi Elders a few years ago.

I want to share with you what I feel is important for these times. We know the difference between information and knowledge. You have all the information you need, now is the time to develop your intuition and go within to find your wisdom. Trust in yourself and in that knowingness, God speaks to us from that place. Take the time to listen to the stilliness within and you will find your place of power. Heal your past so you can move forward to your destiny and see your infinite nature where death does not live and all is possible.
It is important to be very connected to the Earth, and through this connection you will always be able to find your center in the storm. Dream your world into being, see and feel our planet as healthy, one with peace and non-violence, clean water, and food that is not contaminated. Envision the world you want to live in today. The perfect mirror of love and intent is reflected in our life all around us. It is your thought that creates your today.

Remember that your heart is connected with the heart center of the universe, the Great Spirit, and this is the most powerful place to operate from. I think and feel from my heart and it serves me well. What I have shared with you allows me to find my place of power in the misdts of chaos.

Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull

I recently attended a conference and the story of the Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull was shared and the crystal skull displayed. I learned that for over 80 years, the Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull has been regarded as an archaeological treasure, as a technological marvel, and a sacred artifact. There are people with intuitive gifts that are able to access the extraordinary secrets and wisdom locked within the crystal skulls, and the skull delivers messages that will affect the lives of all those who are willing to listen.
It was most interesting to me to be called by the Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull from a conference lecture to go find it and be with it. I listened to my intuition and removed myself from a very interesting lecture on crop circles. I walked upstairs feeling drawn to an unknown destination. To my surprise doors opened and I walked into a private room to find the Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull sitting on top of a table waiting for me and three other people. My private session began with a very personal one-on-one with the Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull. What I received was extraordinary and some experiences are best said or left without words. I will share on a physical level that my heart opened up to a new place of being. It was like I had just run a quick mile, my heart was racing and I felt pumped. Bill Hormann keeper of the Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull later told me that it opens and works with the heart chakra.
I want to encourage each of you to listen to your intuition. I took action when gently nudged, trusting my intuition and I received a great gift.

888 LIONSGATE MEDICINE WHEEL CEREMONY and ORBS

On August 08, 2008 I held a Medicine Wheel Ceremony to connect with the 888 Lionsgate and the energetic vibration coming through for this alignment.

Every year on August 08 there is an energetic opening called the Lionsgate. It is a time of celebration, joy and abundance. It is said to be an opportunity to connect with ancients truths and the ancient wisdom of our DNA.

This year it was extremely powerful with the numerology of 888 making it a triple stargate. Numbers are the foundation for all creation. When we learn the significance of numerology and how it can influence our lives we can consciously work with these vibrations to enhance our journey. The number eight is the symbol of infinity, no beginning no end, as above so below. Eight stands for personal mastery or power. It is the number for abundance, be it good health, prosperity, or meaningful relationships.

The Chinese government choose the date 8-8-8 and the time of 8:08 to begin the Olympic Games. It was no accident the Chinese choose this time, they understood the importance of the number eight and what it could bring to this global event.

The Olympics always mark a magical moment in time when the entire world comes together in thought according to ancient tradition when wars stops and there is a high concentration of mass consciousness towards peace and good will. Just think of the ripple effect this year when you take into account all the other ceremonies that were aligning and coordinating with this Time Gate of 888. This extraordinary alignment created a powerful moment for personal and planetary empowerment. People all over the world stopped and focused on peace, goodwill and gradtitude in that moment of time . We all know that the stone in the pond ripples outward, those tiny ripple merge to form great waves and combined with human intent is worth more than the sum of its parts. This was a juicy and potent senario for manifesting for the collective well being of humankind and our planet.

We were given an opportunity to work with the flow of time to take a look outside of ourselves moving from fears into love, informing the mysteries and allowing for collective thought to transform our world. Our thoughts, prayers, and intentions were amplified exponentially through this gateway.

The photos I took following my Medicine Wheel ceremony were filled with hundreds of Orbs. In this Medicine Wheel the ones who came to sit under the stars and connect with the energies were treated to a very soft, sweet, yet extremely powerful evening.

ORBS

There has been a lot of talk about Orbs lately. In recent years these mysterious balls of energy have been seen in photographs, videos, and also by the naked eye. I have been photographing Orbs for sometime now and have a photo album of pictures taken in an array of conditions. Some people say they are just specks of dust others say its moisture in the air. My personal theory is they are interdimensional beings and respond to our level of consciousness.

The Orb phenomena has been increasing and we are seeing more and more extraordinary photos with Orbs. I believe that it has to do with peoples awareness of the phenomena. Much like in the movie WHAT THE BLEEP where the Indians couldn’t see the ship on the horizon because they did not yet have a frame of reference in ones mind for what they were witnessing.

This was proven to me by my own experience with the introduction to Orbs many years ago. A colleague took photos after a Medicine Wheel Ceremony and it was filled with Orbs. I had never seen a photo with Orbs or even heard of such a thing before that evening. It became a new fascination and place of exploration for me. To my surprise when I went through boxes of old photos I had orbs in many of our pictures and couldnt believe they had not been noticed before. After introducing others to the phenomena they also began looking for orbs in their photos and soon they too had Orbs show up. With this new awareness I began to experiment with my camera.

Walking sacred sites and ancient dwellings has long been a passion of mine and I found it no surprise the landscape in this type of setting was filled with orbs for me. One day visiting an ancient Native American site my friend and I both took many similar shots with our cameras, but her photos were void of orbs and mine filled with orb activity. I experimented with asking the Orbs to come and believe there is a high level of consciousness involved by the one taking the photo in capturing the orb images and a level of unspoken exchange. I have energetically heard take a picture and 99% of the time there is an Orb or Orbs in the photo.

The time of day or night doesn’t seem to make a difference but there are themes to when the Orbs show-up. I discovered they respond to joy, laughter, and love. They are very prevalent at spiritual and high vibrational gatherings. On a family vacation to San Francisco out of all the 144 photos taken only one photo had an unexpected orb. The composition of the photograph explained everything with a big heart as our back drop and I was sandwiched between my beloved daughter and Goddaughter – a big theme of love was present in all our hearts.

Most recently the orbs are taking on colors. I have photographed blue, magenta, and rainbow luminous orbs on several occasions. There seems to be one orb in particular that follows me around and often photographs golden in color. I am always amazed and delighted with this activity.

SUSTAINABLITY ~ "is the growing edge of going green''

"Sustainability is a movement that’s changing the way people think about the planet".

On this 4th of July I was thinking about ways I can be proud to be an American. I thought about freedom and our right to make choices. Freedom can be looked at as having enough clean water and food, it is an environment that is clean and healthy, one whereby we live and breathe without having to worry about survival. We can enjoy our freedom in this country without much struggle. We are blessed as a nation and I want to preserve a balance of life that gives me a place to express myself and know that my family is safe and provided for. I believe each one of us must take steps in creating the world we want to live in. We must make choices at this time that will support our survival. Therefore I share with you what I know to be important about the grass roots of sustainability.

Sustainability is a way of using the Earth’s resources today that protects them for the next generation. It’s a movement of people, not government, not authorities. We the people through our individual acts and taking personal responsibility are encouraged to play a vital role in making conscious decisions about how we live and how we use the earth's resources.

Instead of old environmentalist ideals of not doing things like – not cutting down trees, not driving cars, not building cities - Sustainability means doing things to find balance between people and the environment. What people do on their own can lead to larger steps blazing new thought and actions for business and ultimately government leaders and the planet.

I want to share some facts and ideas that can help you in making choices about starting big change by doing something small. We all know that the stone in the pond ripples outward: those tiny ripples merge to form great waves: combined with our human intent is worth more than the sum of its parts.

What are you willing to do?

Changing light bulbs: If every American home replaced just one light bulb with an Energy Star qualified bulb, it would save enough energy to light more than 3 million homes for a year and prevent green house gases equivalent to the emissions of more than 800,000 cars.

Driving: Americans could save 1.6 billions gallons of gas by maintaining proper tire pressure.

Paper: If one in four office workers made all their copies double sided, they would save enough paper in one year to make a stack thicker than the diameter of the Earth.

Trash: When 1 ton of plastic bags are reused, the energy of 11 barrels of oil is saved.

Energy: If every house in American kept the curtains closed, the energy saved from the additional insulation would supply the entire energy use of Japan.

Water; If every U.S. household used low flow plumbing fixtures, it would save $6 billion worth of water.

Reusing shopping bags: If everyone in Arizona bought and used just one reusable shopping bag, it would eliminate the use and disposal of more than 6 billion plastic bags over the life of the reusable bag.

Air Conditioning: Getting one unit tuned up can save 220 pounds of carbon per year.

Home: Adding weather stripping to your doors and windows can save 1,600 pounds of carbon from electrical generation per year.

Water: Save up to 20 gallons of water per load by not rinsing your dishes before putting them in the dishwasher.

In the Driveway: If everyone in the U.S. who washes their car themselves took just one visit to the car wash, we could save nearly 8.7 billion gallons of water.

Shut the Damper: Keeping the fireplace damper open when you are not using it is like keeping a 48” window wide open during the winter or summer.

So there you have it: a few facts to help you in your awareness to going greener.
Go out and plant a tree today. Its good for air and the land. It shades your house and saves on cooling. Involve your children and grandchildren in these facts and activites. It will make your soul feel good!

Summer Solistice

Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year in the Northern hemisphere. The Sun has reached its peak of power and this marks the start of our summer. Solstice literally means “Stand Still of the Sun” meaning the Sun rises and sets at the same place on the horizon for three days appearing to stand still.

We can honor this sacred dance of the Sun/ Earth and Ourselves with taking time out to connect with this seasonal gateway. It is important to remember we inform the mysteries as much as they inform us. The movement of the planets and stars in the heavens guide us on our journey and this Solstice represents a time of change.

The Solstice and Equinox points represent the four directions on the celestial Medicine Wheel and are activated by the Sun in its seasonal cycle. When we become aware of the seasonal gateways we strengthen our relationship to the mysteries between the earth and the sky, and with this connection it opens us to receive the incoming energies.

Aligning with this solstice can trigger a time when much can be accomplished with an intense period of awakening, release and rebirth as we open to higher consciousness. Our thoughts, prayers, and intentions are amplified exponentially through this gateway. This solstice enhances our powers of manifestation. I want to encourage you to find your passion and state it to the universe, and behind your passion take action!

On this Summer Solstice take time out to connect with a community gathering or make your own ceremony to connect in a conscious way. Drum, sing, pray, or simply being in a good way. Allow yourself to attune to the Divine Essence that flows through all of Creation, give prayers of gratitude and peace for our Mother Earth.
